Our advice
Have you received a suspicious email that appears to be from MotoTrail? Do not click links, open unexpected attachments or reply. Only delete the email after reporting it to us.
Report a suspicious email to valse-eMonil@mototrail.nl.
How to recognise phishing
- A striking or urgent message. The message tries to make you act quickly, for example with a threat, unexpected charge or short payment deadline.
- An impersonal or unusual greeting. The name or form of address does not match previous messages.
- Language and formatting errors. Unusual wording, spelling errors or a different logo may indicate abuse.
- An unusual sender address. Check the full email address, not just the displayed name. Look for small differences in the domain name.
- A suspicious link. On a computer, hover over the link without clicking. Check that the displayed web address genuinely belongs to MotoTrail.
- A request for confidential information. Never share your password, access code or complete payment details by email.
- An unexpected attachment. Only open an attachment if you expected the message and have verified the sender.
Check a booking message
Check that the name, rental period and booking number match your request. If you doubt a confirmation, invoice or payment request, do not use the contact details in the suspicious email; contact us directly via 078-7611774, info@mototrail.nl of info@mototrail.eu.
Clicked or entered information anyway?
Close the website immediately, change the relevant password from a trusted device and contact your bank as soon as possible if you shared payment details. Then report the incident to MotoTrail as well.
